After the Bondi Beach attack, we gathered online as a community to share honestly about what has been unfolding and to pray together. In a time marked by grief and uncertainty, we created space to pause, listen, and bring our hearts before God. Memorial candles were lit as we remembered those affected. We were deeply encouraged to have so many believers join us from around Australia, as well as friends from New Zealand and even from the United States. As we also lit the Hanukkah candles, we were reminded that light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

One the last night of Hanukkah, we gathered for another special event—this time to light the final candle of Hanukkah. Since the attack happened on the first night of Hanukkah, we wrestled with whether to proceed. After much prayer and consideration, we decided to move forward. The outcome was deeply encouraging. Attendance was strong, and the evening was marked by meaningful and open conversations that allowed us to strengthen relationships within the local Jewish community. This gathering became a fitting conclusion to the year—one filled with light, resilience, and connection. As we look ahead, we are expectant and grateful for more meetings, deeper relationships, and new opportunities in the year to come.
